Rental conditions

01Driver

• The driver must be at least 26 years old and have held a driving licence for more than two years.
• The original licence is mandatory: no copy or certificate of loss is accepted. An international driving permit is not required.
• Only drivers named on the contract may drive the vehicle. A second driver can be added when booking.

02Documents required

At pick-up, the renter must present:

• a valid ID card or passport;
• a valid driving licence.

03Booking, changes and cancellation

• The booking is confirmed by an email with all its details.
• The prices shown on the website are indicative and depend on the season; the final price is the one shown in your quote.
• The booking is for a vehicle category: the model may be replaced by a similar one. A specific model or colour can be requested, subject to availability.
• Any change is made by phone, WhatsApp or email with the branch.
• Cancellation or changes are free if you pay on arrival.

04Payment

• Payment is made on site, when you collect the vehicle.
• Cash payments are accepted in any currency; please let us know by email before you arrive.
• The invoice is given to you at pick-up or on return, or sent by email on request.

05Deposit

• A deposit is required at pick-up. The amount depends on the vehicle and is shown when you book.
• Tunisia Rent Car does not charge the deposit: it is a pre-authorisation, released once the vehicle has been checked on return.
• The deposit covers the excess in the event of an at-fault accident, damage with no identified third party, or theft.

06What the rental includes

• Unlimited mileage ;
• mechanical maintenance, washing, oil and lubrication;
• unlimited third-party liability insurance;
• airport / station surcharge.

07Pick-up and return

• An interior and exterior condition report, including the fuel level, is completed at pick-up and on return, in the presence of an agent.
• If you give us your flight number, we will wait for your plane to land, even if it is delayed.
• Delivery is free within the cities where we have a branch; a fee applies outside these areas.
• The car can be returned to another branch if you let the branch know: free of charge for rentals of at least 7 days, otherwise a fee applies depending on distance.
• If the car is returned more than 6 hours late, an extra day is charged at the rate of the original period.

08Fuel

The vehicle is supplied with a quarter of a tank and must be returned at the same level. Otherwise, the missing fuel is charged. The “full tank” option can be added when booking.

09Use of the vehicle

• The vehicle may only be used within Tunisian territory.
• It may not be used to tow or push another vehicle.
• The vehicle must be returned as clean as it was at departure.
• Traffic fines, punctures and damage to rims are payable by the renter.

10Insurance and excess

• The basic price includes compulsory insurance (third-party and civil liability).
• In the event of an at-fault accident, the renter only pays the excess. If an accident report shows they are not at fault, they pay nothing.
• In case of theft, the excess is doubled.
• Windows, accessories and the spare wheel are not covered by basic insurance.

11Breakdown, accident and claims

• In case of breakdown or accident, immediately call the assistance number given to you at pick-up.
• A joint accident report must be completed and sent within 24 hours. Without a report, additional protection does not apply.
